Supplies to collect for procedures

Central line

  • Central line kit (20 cm triple lumen kit)
  • 1 full body drape
  • 3 adapter caps (1 for each lumen)
  • 3 normal saline flushes
  • mask, bonnet, sterile gown, sterile gloves (1 set for each operator; 1 extra set for main operator)
  • 1 chlorhexadine scrub (2 come with the central line kit)
  • 3 sterile 10 cc syringes
  • 1 large sterile OpSite dressing
  • 2 chucks
    Optional: SiteRite machine, SiteRite sterile sleeve
    Note: After IJ or subclavian line placement, call for STAT CXR to confirm placement and rule out pneumothorax. Write procedure note.

    Radial arterial line

  • 1 basic tray
  • mask, bonnet, gown, sterile gloves (1 set for each operator)
  • 2 chlorhexadine scrubs
  • 1 bottle of 1% lidocaine
  • 1 roll of paper tape
  • 1 sterile packet of 2-0 silk suture
  • 1 sterile suture needle driver
  • 1 sterile pair of scissors
  • 2 chucks
  • A few alcohol swabs
    Note: Ask nurse to prepare arterial line set-up prior to starting the procedure. After procedure, write procedure note.

    Femoral arterial line

  • Central line kit (single lumen kit)
  • 1 full body drape
  • mask, bonnet, gown, gloves (1 set for each operator)
  • 1 chlorhexadine scrub (2 come with the central line kit)
  • 1 large sterile OpSite dressing
  • 2 chucks
    Optional: SiteRite machine, SiteRite sterile sleeve
    Note: Ask nurse to prepare arterial line set-up prior to starting the procedure. After procedure, write procedure note.
